The feed separator series is used whenever a continuous flow of workpieces has to be separated (e.g. from a spiral conveyor or on a conveyor belt) and transferred separately to a downstream device. Depending on the workpiece to be separated, feed separators with one or two plungers can be used. The former can be used for general feed separation or purely as a stopper. The advantage of the feed separator series with two plungers is the mechanical synchronisation of the two fingers and the associated reduction of actuation to a single valve. They are used for small workpieces.
The plungers each offer mounting options for individual attachments, allowing the product to be perfectly adapted to the separating task. The space-saving solution of the sensor concept is another advantage of the feed separators from Festo: our proximity switches SME-8 and SMT-8 can be fitted as accessories directly in a sensor slot on the housing.

Stopper cylinders are pneumatic cylinders that are used to stop movements, either with or without cushioning, in machines or workpiece carriers on transport systems. Stopper cylinders with cushioning can stop loads of up to approx. 800 kg on transport systems. They are primarily designed to stop or block moving parts, such as a load in an assembly line.
Feed separators also stop, cushion or hold one or more accumulating workpiece carriers on specific contact surfaces. Separating is a special case, where only one object is separated from a continuous series of objects and allocated to a different one for process-specific reasons. In manufacturing automation, people are mainly interested in separating (sectioning off) workpieces. With pneumatic separators, the separating function is ensured by the supply of compressed air.
Stopper cylinder DFSP is our standard stopper cylinder in trunnion or roller design. The trunnion design is available both with and without anti-rotation lock and with or without female thread. The roller version of the stopper cylinder comes with an anti-rotation lock. Its compact design, sensor slots on three sides, a long service life thanks to very good cushioning characteristics and sturdy piston rod guide will not fail to impress. It can safely stop workpiece carriers, pallets or packages weighing up to 90 kg.
Thanks to the cushioned toggle lever mechanism and integrated, adjustable shock absorber, stopper cylinder DFST stops workpieces particularly gently, without vibrations and noise. The adjustable operating direction (90°, 180°, 270°) makes the cylinder very flexible and with an impact mass of up to 800 kg it is also very sturdy.
Stopper cylinder STAF is a cylinder with toggle lever design with rebound protection and separating function. It stands out thanks to the absorption of high transverse forces of up to 150 kg and can be controlled quickly via a flange-mounted solenoid valve, even over greater distances. In addition, it is available as single-acting or double-acting.
Feed separator HPV is available in a version with two plungers, as well as with a double piston, non-rotating piston rod and locking mechanism. This feed separator is particularly cost-effective, since it replaces at least two drives in the feed process. Proximity switch SME/SMT-8 can also be integrated in the housing.
Our feed separator HPVS is available as a version with one plunger and with a non-rotating piston rod. Here, too, proximity switch SME/SMT-8 can be integrated in the housing.
