In the afternoon of May 20, Yao SUN, Vice Minister of Ministry of Education of the PRC, Xinfu WANG, Vice Governor of Shandong Province, Shutao SUN, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jinan Municipal Committee and Mayor of Jinan City, as well as relevant leaders from Shandong Provincial Department of Education visited Festo Jinan Global Production Center. Zuolin JIANG, Vice President of Operations and Yilin XU, Vice President of Teaching and Training of Festo Business Region Greater China, received and accompanied the delegation.
Vice Minister and his delegation visited the digital exhibition hall, production workshop and dual system training center for an in-depth understanding of Festo's advanced concept and rich experience in the field of intelligent manufacturing in the era of Industry 4.0, as well as the collaborative innovation and technology platform provided by the Company in the field of industry-education integration.
During the visit and exchange, both parties expressed that, in addition to high-quality products and solutions, talents are also the key to ensure the smooth implementation of automation and intelligence.
Festo is a global leader both in automation technology and in industrial training. Over the past 35 years, the Company has provided support for more than 600 educational partners, universities, vocational colleges and industrial training centers in Greater China. The training content ranges from basic courses to "turnkey" packages for technical learning centers.
As a leading and core member, Festo launched the Dual System Training Program in 2011 together with Jinan Vocational College, AHK, and other German companies in Shandong Province. Referring to the German dual system training model, the Program achieved the integration of enrollment, training and employment.
Yilin XU, Vice President of Teaching and Training, Festo Business Region Greater China, said that, "Universities and colleges are the reservoir of social talents, while enterprises represent the actual social demand for talents; only by combining the two organically can we make scientific use of talent resources. The key to the success of dual system vocational education lies precisely in the university-enterprise cooperation model, which can further boost the recognition of vocational education within enterprises and the whole society."
In addition to targeted talent training, Festo has been designated as the official competition equipment provider for WorldSkills since 1991, supporting such events as Mechatronics, Water Treatment, Industrial Machinery and Industry 4.0. Moreover, the Company is also involved in hosting the annual China Skills Competition and the WorldSkills Selection Competition, and provides technical support for these events.
In 2022, Festo will continue to support the 46th WorldSkills Competition to be held in Shanghai. As a competition equipment provider, Festo will actively organize and participate in the relevant talent training and selection process to provide support for the participants to be fully prepared for success!
