Festo was invited to the 2021 Qingdao Summit

The second Qingdao Multinationals Summit, co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and People's Government of Shandong Province, was held from July 15 to 16

As the global market leader in automation technology and technical training, Festo was invited to attend the opening ceremony and share its experience. Mr. Chen Hong, Vice President of Sales of Festo Business Region Greater China, delivered a speech. “Festo is a German family-owned enterprise with nearly 100 years of history and is deeply involved in industrial automation. Thanks to China's policy of opening up, Festo successfully entered the Chinese market in the 1980s and has grown together with Chinese industrial manufacturing ever since. For nearly 30 years, Festo has been steadily growing its performance and continuously expanding its investment in China. We are committed to making China our second ‘local’ market in the world.” Mr. Chen Hong said.

In recent years, multinational companies, including Festo, have gained important growth opportunities from the continuous optimization of the “soft” domestic business environment and the constant improvement of China’s “hard” development strength. In response to China’s 14th Five-Year Plan to vigorously promote the development of “New Infrastructure Construction” and emerging industries, Festo is accelerating its strategic layout in fast-growing sub-sectors such as 5G, life sciences, pharmaceuticals and new energy vehicles, as well as promoting the automation and digital transformation and upgrading of its partners in various industries and acting in accordance with the long-term goal of sustainable development.

As a multinational company, Festo has been continuously strengthening its “localization” efforts, taking Jinan, Shandong Province, as one of its local foothold, to enhance its efficiency and ability to serve the Chinese market. With the support of governments at all levels, the Festo Jinan Global Production Center has been fully operational since 2020. The project has set up core areas, including intelligent production workshop, automatic logistics center and dual system training center. The Jinan Global Production Center is one of the most important strategic investments of the Festo Group. The completion of this project marks a significant improvement of Festo’s supply chain system in China, Asia and the world at large.

Looking ahead, Mr. Chen Hong pointed out, “Festo will continue to deepen its ‘localization’ efforts in the Chinese market and grow together with its clients. In addition, Festo will actively respond to China’s carbon neutrality target in a series of processes such as R&D and design, raw material selection, manufacturing, product delivery and after-sales service, so as to accelerate energy saving and emission reduction with advanced automation products and solutions, and share the experience with local partners.”

Festo was invited to attend the 2021 New Growth Drivers Fair · Qingdao held concurrently to share its automation experience with the participating guests by bringing digital solutions that help to transform multiple industries from the three perspectives of innovation, value and sustainability.
