This year is the 30th year for Festo to be partner of WorldSkills. On June 30th, WorldSkills International and Festo celebrated 30 years of partnership. After the partnership with the WorldSkills International, Mechatronics is the first skill competition designed by Festo. It requires technician with knowledge of the global manufacturing technology application involved in mechanical pneumatic technology, hydraulic technology, electrical engineering, electronics, computer technology, production digital technology, robotics technology and system development and other fields.
MPS, Modular Production System, is the officially designed equipment for WorldSkills Mechatronics competition with integration of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical and information technology, etc
The establishment of this competition is to develop more high qualified technician with the development of industrial technology and application. They need to be equipped the ability to design assembly debugging and maintenance of industrial automation equipment, but also for equipment control system and human-machine interaction (HMI) system program, and dealing with the fluid problems in industrial applications.
In addition to Mechatronics competition, Festo will also continue to support more skill competitions: Water Technology, Industrial Mechanics and Industry 4.0, as well as other elements of the event including Try-a-Skills, the WorldSkills conference, and the WorldSkills Museum. We believe that Festo will keep on contributing to cultivate more skillful industrial talents in the partnership role of WorldSkills competition.
