Festo supports China national trial of WSS2022

On the November 17-19, the 46th WorldSkills Competition in Skill Industry 4.0 project is to be held at the headquarter of Festo Greater China. Five Chinese teams from Tianjin, Jiangsu, Beijing, Shandong and Shanghai participate in this round of selection and compete for the further stage of national training and trial.

On the 19th of November, the 46th WorldSkills Competition in Skill Industry 4.0 project has been compeleted successfully at the headquarter of Festo Greater China. 5 Chinese teams from Tianjin, Jiangsu, Beijing, Shandong and Shanghai, nearly 40 person in total, participated in this round of selection for the further stage of national training and trial.

Mr. Sun Xingwang, Director of Shanghai Vocational Skills Appraisal Center and head of the WSS2022, Mr. Chen Yande, Director of Professional Ability Construction Department of The Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Jiangsu Province, Mr. Li Zhenyun, member of the Party Committee of The Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Wuxi and president of Wuxi Technician College attended the competition site.

In the past 3 days, competitiors is playing in pairs, cooperating with each other. One person is responsible for the operation of a computer, another assembly equipment. Competitors were assigned with 5 tasks, including workstation installation, programming, debugging and running, and also production system integration with optimization, analysis and report, to process the order in the whole production of industrial automation from sales order to smart production.

Sponsoring a brand new skill competition of WSS2022

As being partner of WorldSkills for 30 years, Festo has always been committed to the education and training of professional skills in the industrial field. In 2016, Festo took the lead in presenting to WorldSkills organization for the thoughts on talent education for the rapid development and transformation of the industry. Based on this, Industry 4.0 is going to be officially appear on the 46th WorldSkills Competition as a brand new project.

Festo China will continue to support international competitions at home as an official global partner, in the skills competitions of Industry 4.0, Mechatronics, Water Technology, Industry Machanics and Renewable Energy from equipment to technical support. Furthermore, Festo is supporting the national training and selective competitions in all projects.

Intelligent manufacturing in the WSS2022

When we talk about Industry 4.0, we mean the impact information and communication technologies (ICT) are having on real-time optimization and networking for efficient automation and production. This is sometimes also called the “fourth industrial revolution”. It is the role of the Digital Production Systems Technician to implement Industry 4.0 in businesses, designing and implementing systems, introducing both software and hardware, and supporting programmes, especially cybersecurity.
